Achieving Climate Benefit from HCFC Phase-out

Up to 25 GtCO2-eq. emissions between now and 2050 could be eliminated through the phase-out of Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs). Such phase-out will also bring a net benefit of advancing the recovery of the ozone layer by up to 3.3 years.

Air pollution and children's respiratory health

In children, air pollution may cause, contribute to or aggravate respiratory diseases, which are a major cause of their ill-health. A report from the Swedish EPA summarises and evaluates the findings of recent epidemiological studies of how short- and long-term exposure to traffic-related air pollution affects respiratory health and allergic sensitisation in children.
